Surfacing
For the podium I used a wood file texture attached to mia material x with the reflectivity and glossiness adjusted to lead to the end result, shown above.
For the cross I used the copper preset for mia material x and changed it to a golden color, resulting in the above picture.
For the flowers I used different shades of pink applied to mia material x, and turned up the roughness to about .3 or .5 for each, used a simple mia material x for the stems with nothing special done to it. The same for the paper wrapped around, although I turned the transparency to about .5 for it.
For the napkin I made a simple cloth texture colored white and repeated the UV a few times to get the end result.

Blog Update
Though assigned to model the fork, spoon, and knife, after modeling them I learned that models that ultimately looked better than mine had already been made which lead to them being used instead of mine. After that I modeled the curtains by applying ncloth to a plane. Then I modeled the restaurant menu by using three very thin prisms and attaching the vertices. After the modeling I began work on specular maps and made the map for the napkin UV above.

Recently I have contributed to concept art with the animation such as the tableware and altar setting, and have begun modeling on these assets/settings along with the rest of the group.

King's Treasure
I decided to turn this into a night-time scene. I applied a night sky theme to the sky box created by physical sun and sky after deleting the sun. I used a dim, blue point light above the table and an orange point light to simulate the warm glow from a flame inside the lantern. For the table, crown and chair back I used a red velvet texture. For the gemstones I used various mia_material_x nodes, all identical except for the color.The only gemstone that is not identical is the diamond, which I modified one of the preset physical glass textures for. The gold was created by using a file texture plugged into mia_material_x. The coin pouch and sword scabbard (though hard to see) are both leather files plugged into mia_material_x, black for the scabbard, brown for the coin pouch. Lastly for the chair, walls, and rafters I used a wood file texture plugged into mia_material_x.
