1st Six Weeks Reflection Essay

The first six weeks was filled with fun, cool, and somewhat annoying projects. The first project simple shapes, where we created a basketball player was frustrating, due to how the program was so new. In the end though, i think it came pretty good, it being the first thing i created. The second project dirty water drop was probably the most frustrating project of the six weeks. This was an extremely frustrating project, because of the minus front, i tried that 5 times before i was told that i needed to make a copy in order to not delete the whole project. In the end, it surprised me yet again about how well it turned out. The next project the flower bouquet i got halfway done before i dropped the project in order to keep up and finished it at the end of the six weeks, it was definitely not my best work.

After that we started typography. The first typography project was a simple worksheet, in which we had to define and answer what this was used for. The second typography project, typography in illustrator, was pretty simple and didn't take much time at all, it was just typing on paths and using fonts. The next project TYPO was still pretty simple but had it's tricky moments, i had to choose a font, in this case Comic Sans MS, type TYPO, modify it, and finally add a background. The next project, Glyph Monster, was difficult, and extremely frustrating. I chose something to model the glyph monster off of, in this case a Pokemon, and created it using only glyphs, this was hard due to the restrictions of the project. Using only  glyphs to create a monster was much harder than i originally expected, in the end i finished, but feel like i could have done better. The next project Typography Quote was simple, i used the quote "Earth without art is just eh..."-unknown, to create art using simple shapes such as stars and ellipses. The last typography project was Lyrical Typography. For this project i used the chorus from the song Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Guns 'N Roses. To do this project i created a man who was literally knocking on heaven's door, and inside the door i used the lyrics from the chorus, "knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door." The very last project was the Color Theory Worksheet, I had to define terms, and answer questions about Color Theory.

In conclusion the first six weeks was fun, frustrating, and annoying, but i enjoyed it nonetheless.
